In my country in the 70's and 80's, salsa, merengue and boleros were danced until the wee hours of the morning, young people spent their time playing with friends in the street and looking for things.
When I was little I played in school with my classmates, fortunately my childhood was not totally influenced by technology.

my father had fun playing in the field since they didn't have much technology and just like my father didn't have much technology.
but when I was 10 years old they gave me a playstation 1 and I played football with my friends.

People 50 years ago, probably spent their time in hippie concerts because exactly 50 years ago they made some of the concerts most popular of the world "WoodStock"(1969). Probably listen music was a good hobby of people of that time.
At 80-90 pastime of kids were the toys like a yo-yo, cars 1:64 scale, and arcade games like pacman, etc. One example for this is a movie ToyStory relased in 1996, where toys were protagonists of their own history.
When I was a kid, my favorite hobby was play football, because i could play with my friends, also this sport was so popular at that time.

people before sould play with anything maybe thei used to use more imagination and creativity than people now. then tecnologies arrived our lifes and thei started to get more fun playing videogames and things like pimball or pacman. when i was a child i used to play with my sister in the house with anything or we watched movies on VHS or played videogames in playstation 2
